Qi By the Sea – Qigong Sessions in Brighton
This summer I will be running my most exciting Qigong project to date!
I have teamed up with About Balance, Brighton and Sea Lanes to run a summer class in Qigong at their Pop-Up venue 299 Madeira Drive, Brighton BN2 1EN, on Brighton’s historic sea front.
Through the summer we will learning Tai Chi Qigong Shibashi, a comprehensive programme of Qigong which will give you a thorough grounding in this fascinating and profound approach to exercise.
Qigong (pronounced Chee Kung) is a wholistic exercise system which has been practised in China for thousands of years and includes guided movement, self -massage, breathing techniques, postural alignment and meditation. The Shibashi system consists of sets of 18 movements that build into sequences that gently strengthen the musculature, deepen the breath and foster tranquillity of mind. It is easy to learn and builds into a comprehensive set of tools to exercise the whole body and give you the means to take control of your health and well-being. Benefits from regular practice include improved posture, greater energy and stamina, a stronger immune system and a greater sense of calm. Qigong is suitable for anyone regardless of age or physical ability and requires no special equipment.
